I'm considering...

Entering for a 10k race in may I'm not a runner by any stretch of the imagination, so it'll be rather a challenge I've been wanting to do something for charity for a while and I'm really tempted by this! I'm rather scared though!

10k is a lot, PrincesPikachu. You should prepare by training beforehand. You've got about 6 months to do so. Do you belong to a gym? It's going to be hard to run in the winter if you don't have an indoor track at your disposal.

Good for you! That sounds like a wonderful goal and it's for charity too! I really admire you for taking on such a challenge. You can do this!

I know it's a lot, that's why I'm scared ATM I can run for about a minute before I have to walk, so there's a fair way for me to go! I'm not a member of a gym, but tbh running in the rain doesn't bother me too much - it'll cool me down!

I've been looking at doing couch25k, I've started it before and then given up but I'll do that and then there's a fair few programs to get you up to 10k! I think I've got enough time! I'm planning on doing my first "run" tomorrow, but there's a huge storm due to hit in the next few hours, so maybe not

I'm going to be keeping it quiet til around Xmas time when I know I can get somewhere with it and hopefully stick to it! I've not even told my OH yet! But I'm feeling really determined!

That will be a great way to be able to keep track of your progress. If you can only run for a minute now, before having to walk, you'll soon notice that you can go two minutes... and then three minutes!

I'd keep quiet about for now too. Imagine everyone's surprise!

I only run when chased or if I am chasing kids so I can not really help with that. It can be fun to do though. My husband works with a guy that runs in places around our town and a few towns over, he says it is very enjoyable to just get out there and run. I don't buy it.

You see I can see it being enjoyable! I've always wanted to just be able to go for a run to blow away the cobwebs! It's just never happened cos I'm too lazy but I do think it's something I could really enjoy!

I started my "training" yesterday, it was tipping down all day, so I got my aerobic step out and was running up and down on that! Not really the same, but it was a start! And I managed 2 minutes without having to slow down! Hoping to get out for a proper run today, just depends how long it takes me to get my housework done!
