Calorie counting

Hi, recently I started to diet. (8 days ago) I have been counting calories and have been consuming about 1600 a day, my BMR says I burn roughly 2100, I have been walking anywhere from 6k to 12k steps a day. I went from 222 to 212.8, my concern is I feel I counted corrently so I should only lose at most 2lbs a week. Everywhere I read urges you not to lose weight to quick, I am not sure what I am doing wrong, please help

Counting calories I feel can be stressful and kill the idea of a diet, I would recommend a healthy balance of keeping portions to the correct size and undertaking exercise on a regular basis. This is what works for myself - some people like to count so they are in control....
