Calorie Counting - Three Week Update

So I've been counting calories and recording what I eat in a "little red book" for three weeks now. I keep the journal right by my computer (which I'm on an awful lot throughout the day) and I've made a habit of jotting down calorie counts as I go along.

I'm proud to admit I've kept to my daily calorie limit. I've also been walking for 20-25 minutes/day (although I've skipped about 4 days within the three week time frame), and I've managed to lose four pounds!!!@@@!!!!

Maybe that doesn't sound like much, but for me, it's AWESOME!

I'm definitely going to keep this up. I have another 15 pounds or so to lose, and this time I'm going to do it!!

That is SO fantastic!! Good for you! What a difference that just being "present" and conscientious can have in our daily lives! And four pounds is nothing to sneeze at, if you had an overall goal of 19 or 20 pounds, you have already achieved 25%!! Woohoo!

Wow, KatieMac, I didn't even think of it that way but you are right! 25% to goal, woo hoo!!!

Better yet, I am already fitting into jeans that were way too tight three weeks ago. So yes, I am motivated big time, LOL.

I was hesitant to start this plan because I didn't really think it would work but now I am soooooooooo glad I gave it a try.

Great to hear! I wouldn't worry about skipping a couple of days of walking because little breaks are necessary in order to keep your sanity.

It's pretty low, I keep it just shy of 1200 calories per day. I am very short and somewhat small framed. I'm also older and more sedentary than I used to be. I've done the BMI - BMR - TDEE calculations and at my current rate of activity I'm eating less calories than I need, which is the key.
