Eat Less

I think calorie counting will drive you nuts because it use to drive me nuts also. What changed for me is 5 things:
1.) Eat less
2.) No soda
3.) No bread (Say no bread at the restaurant)
4.) No pasta
5.) Do not snack in-between meals unless it is fruit

Of course once in awhile I will have some soda, pasta and bread, but barely.

Completely agree with you! these products are the worst enemies of our bodies;-(( I would also add to this list VERY important things:
1. Drink lots of water
2. NO SUGAR and SWEETS at all (only fruits)
3. Avoid fried food
4. As less as possible of potatoes and white rice

I think counting calories works for some and not for others. Everyone's different. I like counting calories even when just trying to maintain my weight, as I like to know where I am.

Maybe eating less is a good and useful tip but it depends what you remove from you diet. If you skip vegetables, fruits, milk products, meat and fish you will definitely lose your energy instead of weight.

I am having okay look at counting calories. I have also stopped drinking soda. I did this because I didn't want to drink my calories. Your tips are great ones. I just can't give up bread.

Counting calories is tedious. However, it works. I would like to add an item to the lists above. That would be to exercise at least 3 times a week. Every day is preferable but busy schedules sometimes prevent this from happening.

I don't count calories. I tried that but it drove me up the wall. Instead, I started watching my fat intake. Just by choosing lower fat options, I did lose weight. That was years ago, though, before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Now, nothing seems to make a difference, but I still watch fat for health reasons.
