Insulin Resistance Diet

As I was saying in my journal thread, I've been told by my OB-GYN to watch carbs and sugar because I am insulin resistant and have PCOS, which is aggravated by high insulin levels. She was kind of vague with the details, though, so I bought this book on Amazon's website. Have any of you read it? Basic premise is to limit carbs per meal to no more than 30 grams (fiber doesn't count so it's 30 grams of net carbs) and pair it with at least 14 grams of protein, and space meals out at least 2 hours apart. The concept is called "linking and balancing."

My ex-mother-in-law had massive success with this. She lost 10%of her body weight, and is no longer insulin resistant! Good luck, I hope it helps.

Thanks to both of you for the good luck wishes. I've been doing this for a few days now and so far it's going well. It's not as hard as I thought it would be to limit carbs to 30 per meal, but it's been somewhat challenging to keep the protein up that high. I guess I never realized before how much I prefer starchy food!
