Lowest calorie pizza

My family loves pizza so we make it often at home. We make the individual ones so we all get to pick what we want on ours. What is the lowest calorie pizza to make? Toppings, sauce, etc. - I want to make the best pizza I can.

I like the low calorie flatbread at Aldi's. I top that with an all-natural sauce, a little ground turkey meat, already cooked, and some low fat mozzarella cheese. You could also add mushrooms for added flavor.

Going for lower fat cheese helps a lot.
Avoid fatty meats such as pepperoni and add more vegetables. Mushrooms and peppers are great additions to a pizza

For even less calories you can choose to make a white pizza. We used to get these where I grew up and they were the best! Spinach pizza with no red sauce and lots of cheese. Just use the low fat cheese and you just cut out a lot of calories.

It depends on what kinds of toppings you want. Cheese only will always have the least amount of calories, but then after that, adding veggies contributes less calories than adding meat does. If you have to have meat though, adding ham and/or turkey meat (turkey sausage, turkey pepperoni, etc.) contributes less calories than pork or beef.

I’ve seen a couple recipes that sub out both the cheese and the sauce. Olive oil or dressings are drizzled over the toppings instead. I’ve never been able to nix the cheese, but using dressings is a fun way to mix it up. I never would have discovered teriyaki pizza otherwise!

I would imagine portion is the biggest factor because of the base regardless of what you use reducing carbs is a good idea when dieting.

Weight watchers bread or low calorie flat breads like suggested with puree and low fat cheese. Meat I would use wafter ham or chicken

I love the flat bread myself but I would love to make it instead of buying it. A good bit of it at least for us is choosing the right cheeses. The kids will eat almost anything including the not too healthy stuff. When we make anything at home I always stalk the store before I buy something and having a smartphone with me to look up certain things is always a bonus when I am stuck at the store trying to decide what I want.

I've never tried it myself but some people make the crust out of cauliflower instead of bread. I imagine that would cut down significantly on calories although I have no idea what it does to the taste.

The crust is my favorite part of the pizza; I just don't think I could do a cauliflower crust! Cauliflower with cheese and pizza toppings would probably be a good side dish, though.
