Fruit!

Hi, I am in week six of slimming world. The first week I didn't lose anything. The next 3 weeks I lost 2 pounds per week and this week I have put on 2 pounds. I've stuck to the plan rigidly and been drinking at least 3 litres of water every day. I've had strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, melon and pineapple or a selection of them as well as an apple and a banana every day. I've been eating loads of veg with my meals. I've had between 8 and 15 syns per day and measured alcohol when having it as part of my syns along with low calorie tonic. I am frustrated this week at putting weight on. Can anyone give any advice or does anyone know if I could be eating too much sugary fruit. Any advice welcome. Thank you.

I don't know for sure but I think you are eating way too much fruit. Especially banana! I love grapes and they are syn free but someone told me they equate to little balls of sugar has made me go easier on them than I had.

Try cutting back a bit on the fruit (especially bananas) because the rest of what you are doing seems to be perfect. You SHOULD see a better weight loss next week.

Everything else you've done is perfect, but it is possible to eat too much fruit. It's a great thing to eat, but too much can have a negative effect. I don't see an issues with bananas, seeing as you're only having one per day from what you've written, but

I most definitely concur with both previous comments; as wonderful and nutritious as fruit is, it's often very sugar and carb dense, and if you're not exercising, this water weight won't go away so quickly.

Eating less fruit and replacing these snacks with veggies (think carrot sticks), will likely see you lose the weight fast (water weight comes off whenever we use the toilet and sweat).
