Advice and help needed!

I joined slimming world 3 weeks ago and lost an amazing 9lb in my first week. Since then I haven't shifted a single pound and am expecting a gain at weigh in tomorrow.

I keep a food diary and there is nothing I am doing differently from the first week when I saw that big loss and I just don't understand what I am doing wrong.

My daily food intake comprises the following

Breakfast - fresh fruit (usually berries)

Lunch - chicken or ham salad and yoghurt

Dinner - slimming world recipe

HEA - milk or cheese (depending on recipe)

HEB - hi fi bars

Snacks - apple, oranges

Any help or advice anyone has is really appreciated because I am feeling really demotivated!

Thanks in advance!

Firstly, welcome and well done on your first loss!
Sorry to hear you've not had any further losses though, but hopefully we can try to figure out why that might be

How much water do you drink each day?
Have you increased your exercise dramatically since starting SW?
How many syns do you use each day?

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I must admit in the first week I was really mindful of drinking plenty of water but if I am honest I have probably slipped over the last couple of weeks.

In terms of syns I don't really use more then 1 or 2 a day and that depends on the slimming world recipe. Over the last 3 weeks I have allowed myself about 2 or 3 treats but never exceeding 15 a day. I think last count I had well over 300 syns saved up.

I haven't increased my exercise massively I walk briskly for about an hour every day.

I did wonder if I was eating too much fruit or not having enough variety. Although its all free food I guess there is sugar in fruit?

This might sound daft but are you eating enough if you've cut down into small portions and lower in calories your body may have gone into starvation mode.

Use your syns. That is one of the main parts of slimming world. If you don't use them, you are at risk of some sort of binge when you start to crave things.
Use at least 5 everyday. You don't have to use all 15 everyday, but you need to use some. Your body needs some fat to be able to process everything, and cutting it all out completely isn't good for you. Slimming World is about changing your relationship with food, and having a healthy balance of the treats in your life. You'll be surprised at how much using your syns can increase your losses. They are there to be used for a reason

Keep up with the water too, 2 litres a day, not counting any tea/coffee or fizzy drinks.

My personal experience is that too much fruit can hinder losses, but you can balance that out once you increase your syns and increase your water intake.
I've seen lots of people who fall into the same position you're in, and it's usually because they aren't having any syns.
