Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the input.

For now I am sticking to what I know and seeing how it goes, that is:
1) Changing up my As and Bs.
2) LOTS of speed food.
3) Ensuring carbs are ONLY 1/3 of my plate.
4) Sticking to Syn levels (average day I do less than 10 but sometimes a sneaky glass of wine pushes over that).

First lot of measurements recorded yesterday but will be doing them weekly before weigh in from now on.That way if I do have a gain or maintain I have something positive I know I can fall back on (with any luck :-) ).

I did hit a revelation last night of that I know I can weigh less than I am currently because I did it last time, just have to stay focused and stick to my rules!

Once again thanks for your amazing support!

Watch this space! :-D

Also, as a side note, does anyone know how you would syn restaurant made puddings? I am having a meal out with a drama society I am a part of tomorrow night.

Have already advised them that I am avoiding oil so the main course damage is minimal (grilled sea bass, potato rosti and roast bacon and tomato salsa) but I am having a pudding of lemon tart, crème fraiche and cherry jam.

Can avoid the other bits of it but how would I syn the tart do you reckon?

Tart syns as a guide:

Personally I would look at counting 15 syns for it to be safe. 15 seems to be average amount looking at the picture above. Always better to over estimate!
Your main sounds lovely!!

Great work on the measurements by the way, I did mine last night too (finally remembered!)
Your other points are all great too. And you are allowed up to 15 syns each day so you don't need to feel bad if you go over the 10 you've allowed yourself

Ooo er! I had not planned for it to be that high! Whoops! Was hoping to be able to do pudding and large glass of wine! Maybe not!

Any dessert thing that includes any form of pastry is usually high. Pastry is laced with butter and sugar, and with the flour it just mounts up!
Plus the lemon part will have been a reduction of some sort with lemon juice and sugar I imagine.

What about having the dessert and the wine, and as long as you get straight back on plan the morning after, and you stick to plan before it, you can allow yourself a night out.
If in doubt, throw more speed food into your meals you can't avoid enjoying yourself, but you can just be as on plan as possible before and after

Its cool, I have switched to a starter of a salmon and dill fishcake (4.5 syns). I am not normally a hefty pudding person, my syns normally go through alcohol!

I had a HEAVY speed meal last night, green cabbage, broccoli and peas mixed with some fried mushrooms and onions (in fry light) and then put in a dish with a sauce of left over butternut squash soup with slices of spiced butternut squash over the top and melted mozzarella (think a veggie hot pot :-) ). Was AMAZING!

Hey All,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I had a dinner out on Friday and a trip to see a live comedian on Saturday so while some drinking was going on I still didn't go mad. Weigh in today and while I feel amazing, I know that positive feels do not always equate to losses.

Feeling hopeful though so watch this space!

Hey All,

Well its been an...interesting few days. Monday night showed a 1.5 lb loss, which was thrilling although I now enter the concerned stage. 13.10 is the lowest I have weighed since starting Slimming World and what normally happens is a gain immediately follows. Don't get me wrong, I am still trying to stick to my speed foods and keep it down to less than 10 syns a day but it does get disheartening.

I will keep going for the rest of this week but it has been a struggle because my body magic has completely disappeared. I had a bicycle accident on Tuesday morning (as a result of black ice) that resulted in my bike (and me) going face first into a wall. I was seen to at my local hospital and have gone back to work today but I know that being essentially laid up in bed for 2 days is going to affect the numbers come Monday.

Maybe I am being too hard on myself but (as I have said before) I feel talking about things you are concerned about is just as important as talking about the triumph.

I have a country walk booked in Saturday so hopefully that will add to it.

:-)
