Can't get back on plan

Hi there,im hannah This time last year i joined sw i was 15st7.5lbs a year later im 13st2.5lbs so nearly 2.5 stone gone,The problem is i lost 2 stone within the first 4 months and since then i go always go up and down a pound or maintain so the last 8 months i haven't even made a dent in my weight loss progress. One day im all steam a head sticking to plan doing my body magic and the next i can't stop stuffing my face with crap! I like the plan i think it suits me well but once i get a craving in my head or i let my emotions get in the way i end up failing i should be at target by now but i just can't seem to fully 100% stick to it.I haven't been staying to group since i haven't been losing so that probably hasn't helped...I want it sooo bad but something bad will happen and i think f*** it theirs always tomorrow to start fresh but it just isn't happening lately, has anyone else gone through this for a long period and got back into it or is this just not the right plan for me? It has been the most effective plan i've tried just can't get out of this sinking mud at the moment ..thanks in advance guys xx

Hi Hannah

Very well done on losing all that weight, it's brilliant The great thing is, is that you haven't gained back any weight. I think it's understandable to go through periods where you just get a bit tired of a plan when you've been sticking to it so well. I think it sounds like it is the right plan for you, it's just finding your way back to being motivated again.

I had about a year (bit more I guess) where I just stopped doing Slimming World, gained about 2 stone back, but am returned and really want to finish what I started this time. I personally find seeing inspirational stories of others managing to get to target really help, so when I am feeling a bit rubbish about it, I seek those out. I think it's finding what works for you to get you motivated again.

Maybe give yourself small milestones to aim at, it can be a bit demotivating to see the whole picture at once. I think once you start to see good losses again it might spur you on.

Wish I could be more helpful, but you have really done an amazing job with your losses so far, you can definitely do this.

All the very best

Marie

I agree with Marie - you've done so well to just maintain for so long, and you should be pleased that you've not gained anything

I can sympathise with the self-sabotaging, I'm constantly doing it recently!! I have a few days that are good, but then go off track by a mile but I agree with Marie in setting small milestones to try get yourself back on track. I'm currently trying to focus on avoiding the bad foods rather than anything else - and finding alternatives to keep me satified when I get those snacking urges!

I've been wanting to quit smoking too, but I can't do that and lose weight at the same time because then I really would go off plan! So well done you on going for both!

Good luck for the rest of the week

Hi Hannah, well done on maintaining for so long, that's good going!

You've just got to get your head back in the game and you'll fly. I have been demotivated for a good 2 years, if not longer, after losing just over a stone on SW. I don't know what it was but I just couldn't seem to stick to it! I've just put on more and more weight and it's really been getting me down.

It's taken a new plan to make me realise how brilliant SW is! I started a new plan which was high protein, low/no carb, I had to eat 6 times a day at specific times, even if I wasn't hungry, and fruit and veg was limited!!! It took hours of planning and I just didn't have the time, plus I didn't like the fact that I couldn't eat fruit and veg. Coming back to SW has felt quite comforting in a strange way. It's what I'm used to and I know it works. So it might take something to give you that boost, but you'll do it! It already sounds like you're getting your head back in the game!

Good luck hun!! xx
