Meal planning

Hello,

Could anyone recommend any meal plans the have been doing, all Slimming World friendly? I have always used meal plans, but recently I have lost att motivation and I need a kick up the bum!

Sunday I am planning on starting four day of SP before I go on my holiday to America, just so I feel a little better about myself before I go there.

I don't like eggs so omlettes are out of the question. I'm looking for cheap meals and preferably some which I can cook in bulk and then freeze for when I get back from New York so I can continue my SP !!

Whatcha think guys, any ideas?

I always like finding someone else who doesn't like eggs!! I feel more normaly now haha

Bolognese is always a saving grace for me, and chilli con carne. I have them with Cauli rice when I'm on an SP day, which takes hardly any time to make!
I've had curries too, again with Cauli rice.

Butternut squash chips are another favourite of mine, with anything... chicken breast & veggies, curry, chilli (my own take on nachos & chilli lol). I had them last night with a shepherds pie, just the meat part and some cheese

Have a look at some of the pages on my diary, I've got some SP days up around pages 18 onwards... I can't remember whether I've specified SP on the entry, but it might give you some ideas at least!

I shall have to try the butternut squash chips, that's a speed, right?
Cauli rice isn't too bad to be honest, I prefer the courgette spaghetti with my bolognese. I might go and make some speed bolognese tonight and see what I can do. I wish I liked chilli, I might have a look on the SW website to see what SP recipes they have for me to make in bulk.

I think curries are really good for SP, as well as soups. If I've got soup at home I tend to drink it throughout the day when I feel a bit peckish, i put it in a mug though so it feels like a cup of tea or something and makes me think I'm doing something rather than just boredom eating haha!

Sausage and bean stew is good and you don't miss the carbs as much - not sure what the SW sausages are like but I usually have the powters sausages and I think they are half a syn each.

On SP days you get 2 hexbs as well so you could always jsut be boring and have a ham salad sandwich and some fruit/veggies for lunch.

A bloke in my group does exlusively SP and I think he eats a lot of salmon and roasted veg. Butternut squash roasted and topped with chili or spag bol instead of a jacket potato would be an option too.
I don't do SP an awful lot as I am too hooked on my carbs, so I sure there are people who can asnwer this better than me

That sounds good, I'm currently looking at the SP curry recipes on the SW website and they're looking good. I have to say the SW sausages (not the new chicken ones) but the pork sausages are looooooovely!

I'm thinking of making some carrot and swede mash in bulk so I can then freeze it and just get it out in the morning to defrost in time for my dinner. Then I can have this alongside some fish or chicken... What do you think?

Meal planning

That's a great idea Megan, the carrot and swede mash
I really enjoy SP days, and I have always loved rice and pasta... I used to eat one everyday, sometimes twice a day lol
But I really like the not as bloated feeling when I'm on SP days

There's a good sausage casserole recipe on the SW website, but I can't remember if it's specifically SP or not... If not things can always be adapted somehow
I won't pay the price for the SW sausages, but I really like the Tesco Healthy Living ones, 1 Syn each but they're nice

I haven't tried the courgette spaghetti, I keep meaning to but never remember to buy a courgette!

I know, the prices of the SW stuff can be so over priced. 6 sausages at 3, I only buy them every so often so they're easy for me to grab as I prefer to have my syns in other forms.

The carrot and swede mash has gone well. I have done loads of cooking this evening, I went to Tesco after work to grab some ingredients and I have made cheesy cauliflower soup (SW SP recipe), speed bolognese and the veg mash. Now when I come back from my holiday I am happy to say that I have easy speedy SP meals which I can grab and get back onto plan!

SP is concentrating on speed and protein foods plus 1 x HEa and 2 x HEb. So you do have carbs but things like pasta and rice are generally excluded.
