Switching to Slimming World

Hi All,

I have been doing WW for two years and am down 6 and a half stone... I have between 13 - 18lbs left to goal , and I am thinking about switching to SW to shift the last few pounds.

Does anyone have any experience in moving from WW to SW. I am worried about gaining initially ?

Also the last time i looked into SW it was 1/3 Superfree with every mean? I believe this has changed slightly - could anyone give me a quick update as to the basics of the plan now. I plan on joining as in Online member as I dont have a lot of time to get to a class.

Many Thanks all

Hi Wils Well done on the loss so far, that's amazing!!

I have done WW in the past, and I prefer SW of the two plans. The last time I did WW, everything had to be counted in your points, including veg etc. I know it has changed since, and they do have a similar style plan to WS (Fuller for Longer or something like that I think??)

Basically SW now works on Speed and Protein foods. Speed foods are your fruit and beg, and protein foods are your meat, fish, eggs, beans.
The plan allows you to eat plenty of fruit, veg, meat, and fish as you can, and (in moderation) pasta, rice, potatoes, etc.
You get a measured allowance of dairy and fibre per day too, but there are lots of options to choose from on the lists
You have 5-15 syns per day, and these can be used as you like, whether it's chocolate, crisps, alcohol, or things like ketchup, mayo, etc.
They advise you to have 1/3 of your plate (minimum) filled with 'Speed' foods, which are most of your fruit and/or veg, so there's plenty to choose from.

If you do decide to join onilne, you get all the info you need on there, but there are always plenty of people on here that would be able to help with anything that you get stuck with
Good luck on the rest of your journey, whichever plan you decide to use, and hopefully see you around the forum

Your post is interesting, because as a target member with SW for the past 2.5 years, I have been doing some WW weeks to keep boredom at bay!

Thank you so much for your detailed response ...I am going to join online tonight and get going!
Lardylady , WW has worked fantastically for me , however I have fallen into the trap (which I believe many do) of eating things which fall into my points allowance but aren't particularly healthy. I have hit a plateau and need to shake my body up a bit. When I get to maintenance I am unsure what Plan I will follow....
