Group parties

My group is having a taster party tomorrow to celebrate the launch of the Christmas countdown and cookbook. I want to weigh and I enjoying staying for group but I haven't had time to cook anything due to work.

Does anybody usually go to these? Should I just go and weigh then leave, stay for group but not eat or buy some ready cut fruit on the way in and call it a fruit salad?!

I also have a gym session at 7 so can't eat much anyway (group at 5.30) and I usually have to leave just before the end

Currently thinking I will just weigh and then maybe do my food shopping between group and the gym!/

I always go. I love taster evenings, it's a great chance to try something that you have been thinking of making, but haven't been brave enough or had to chance to do yourself.
We usually have some people that just bring some fruit with them because they don't have time to do something beforehand.

I would always suggest you stay, but don't feel like you have to. You don't have to eat anything, or not much anyway. Just see if there's anything that appeals and maybe try a spoonful or something. Or just avoid the completely
If they already know you go to the gym after group, they won't be expecting you to tuck in like others will. At our group, none of us make any tea for ourselves because we all eat through everything on the table! lol

I am worried about having nothing to take. I usually eat half my dinner at 4.30 when I get home from work and then half when I get back from the gym.

I would usually love to make something but I just haven't had time. I will see if I can after work but if not maybe I will just go for a bit

Just take some grapes or something. That's what someone did at our group last week. Don't stress too much about not having time to make something. It's better that you stay to group and don't take anything than you feeling guilty and avoiding staying to group.

I've sometimes made something on the Sunday and warmed it up before I've gone on the Monday night. Or, warmed it when I get there. Our consultant takes a microwave for us to use.
