Feeling Negative

Good Morning,

I am going in to my 4th week on Slimming World this coming Thursday.
Unfortunately due to lack of funds I am unable to weigh in this week, which good and bad as due to said lack of funds I have not had the greatest Slimming World week.

This is where you guys come in, can anyone assist with low cost tasty meals etc...

I want to really focus this week and get a loss as I need to lose a fair bit of weight then start trying for a baby.

All advice appreciated xxx

Hiya,
I do slimming world from home because I live on a pretty tight budget. When things are particularly tight, I do things that can be really 'bulked out' with lots of veg, such as mince mixtures that I can change to fit different dishes; chilli con carne, lasagne, spaghetti bolognese etc.
Mushy pea curry is also really cheap to make, and I find the sauce goes really far when bulked (I always make the sauce up and freeze)
Stirfry's are cheap, and you can make your own sauces out of passatta, spices, soy sauce etc.

Adding to what EmiGem said, you can bulk out things like chilli, shepherds pie etc with red lentils. You could put your usual amount of mince into a recipe then add the same amount of lentils to it so you have more

I would agree, pasta and rice dishes with loads of frozen veg, chopped tomatoes and spices is what I tend to do towards the end of the month. Sometimes it does get a little boring so at least the other suggestions will help keep it interesting

Bulking out with veg/pulses is a great suggestion. I eat loads of pasta dishes because it's cheap, and always have passata in as a sauce base. I don't know where you do your food shop, but a lot of places have cooked meat "trimmings" that are good value, I know Aldi do a big packet of ham trimmings for like £1.75 and I just chuck that into pasta and omelettes, or just eat it cold with salad.

I like packs of frozen berries too, they're a lot cheaper than fresh berries and you can use them to make overnight oats for breakfast or just have them with yogurt as a pud
