All members that post recipes -please read

Hi everyone

I am new to social slimmers, but have been a minimins member for years.

I have just scoured the recipe section and found it quite hard to locate recipes with specific ingredients as there is no indexing method....not that I can find anyway.

I build websites in my spare time and wondered if I could build a site that would compliment social slimmers by holding a database of recipes submitted by members. It would be searchable by ingredient, so much easier to locate things.

It would not be a substitute for social slimmers, as there would be no forum, just merely a collection of your recipes, which members could add to moving forward. It would be used in conjunction and alongside the social slimmers forum. I could see if admin would be able to pop a link in the menu bar for it?

Every time a new recipe was added, a link directly to it could be added to the social slimmers recipe section forum to make people aware of its addition, and each recipe that I added which had already been entered in social slimmers would contain reference to the user that added it so things could be tied together nicely and thanks go to the original recipe owner.

Does anyone in the recipe section have any objection to me doing this with their recipes? I just think it would make life easier for all of us in search of dishes.

Let me have your thoughts...
Thanks

You could actually have a link from the recipe to the thread on the forum. Something like "To see discussion of this recipe, click here".

Only concern is for you really! Seems like it'd be a lot of work to maintain.

To be honest, I enjoy it.... and whilst I am busy tapping at the keyboard I am not stuffing my face! So I get to kill 2 birds with 1 stone...

Thanks for the votes so far.. I am just liaising with Admin about it also, don't want to violate any forum rules. Myself or Admin will keep you posted with the outcome.
