Need to get on track

Hello,

I've been an online SW member for about 6 weeks now. I lost 6lbs over 3 weeks but then gained 5 (ate out x 3 with lots of alcohol too!) I've since lost a couple of lbs but I'm finding it really hard to be consistent and actually lose weight.

How do you do it and stick to it and lose?!

Carbs aren't really my friend so I try not to have bread and I'm not really a pasta fan so if I do have carbs it'll be jacket spud, SW chips or maybe rice.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I tend to plan what I'm eating for the week and buy my food online so I can't be tempted with silly things.

My consultant said the best thing to do was to try and keave your syns for the evening as that's when you're most likely to want a sweet fix. Are you a snacker? I have Mikados in which are half a syn and chocolate tea which keep that craving at bay.

If you post what you're eating then we can advice. I know I out on weight his week as I just wasn't eating enough. I also rarely eat rice, pasta or potatoes, instead I'll have veg or salad. You can eat out, it's just about optimising. I have a takeaway curry every week (vegetable Dhansak) but instead of rice, I'll have a bowl full of veg.

Hi Spoony.
I don't think I could plan as far ahead as a week - I can be indecisive and picky - but I'm certainly going to plan a day ahead. That's been my problem over the past few weeks, not being prepared each day. Today I have fruit and chicken stir fry for work.

I love chicken so plan to have any take away treats surrounding that. Chicken kebabs (homemade) with salad and shop bought chilli sauce to dip.
Does that sound ok?

Omg I'm hungry now

Chocolate tea! That sounds good, where do you get it from.

And definitely agree that it is all about planning... I also like to keep things in the house that I can jsut eat as they are and dont ahve to do much faffing, I like having my healthy extras as ryvita and cheese in the evening too, as it feels like a proper snack!

I can usually live without chocolate/cakes/sweets. It's savoury stuff I love. More crisps the better! But I just try and cut them out because I can't stop once I start. I tend to keep my syns for a drink at the weekend. Problem is I've usually used them all before then!

I am the exact same with alcohol! I love anything savoury too, so I try incorporating it into my free food or healthy extras. Syn free chips are good with lots of salt and vinegar as well! Have a look round other people's food diaries and you'll get an idea of what people use their syns on

That's exactly what I plan to do. I know if I just stick to it it'll work. I suppose I just get lazy with it.
I've created a food diary and hope that'll help. Thanks everyone.

Hey i found using the clean eating recipes really helped me! I make a healthier alternative to all the treats i used to like, i found this so much easier as it didn't mean cutting everything out. I'm also on the juice plus shakes, know quite a few people who lost a couple of stone this way!

That sounds good sweets.

I'm pretty indecisive and picky. My consultant told us a fab idea; write some possible meals down on post it notes for the week and then you can rearrange them depending in what you fancy. I'm going to try this as I do tend to come to the day when I'm having something and go "oh, I don't fancy that."

It's a Twinings tea and I got mine from Sainsbury's. Here's a link to it; Chocolate Tea
