Dinner :)

Hello all,

Just found out I've consumed basically all of my syns for today (on a stupid wrap!) and I also went over yesterday. So.... I'm currently looking for something quick and easy for dinner tonight, particularly syn free. I'm still a newbie so any recipes would be highly appreciated.

If any of you are interested I made my first healthy dinner last night (I think). I made jacket potato with my favourite topping of all time... Tuna and sweetcorn! And of course a dash of light mayonnaise I resisted the temptation to cover it in butter and I was pleasantly surprised. It's tasted lovely.

Are there anymore meals so simple to make? I will be more adventurous after pay day but at the moment money is certainly tight!

Butter on jacket potatoes is my weakness but the food plan I follow allows it so phew

One of my favourite quick, cheap an easy free meals with SW was the bachelors rice I would add chicken and sliced spring onions to the golden packets and shredded lean beef with mushrooms to the beef packet!

These use to be free but if I remember some of the shops own weren't!

You could do something like this (it's basically just mince) with some syn free chips (rough cut and thrown in the oven):
Big Mac (without a bowl) In a Roll - Only 1 Syn!

Or this one (if you don't have your HE left) Big Mac in a bowl

I've been looking though Pete's thread. There are tons of great simple dishes in there

Batchelors changed the recipe for the Super Rice (formerly Savoury Rice) and the packets that have 'cooks faster' on them are no longer free. They are only a 1.5 syns for the whole packet, but it's still anooying that they aren't free

Just a note on your dinner last night, it sounds great, but next time do a little salad with it too. Your sweetcorn is free, but you ideally need to be putting some speed food on your plate too, about 1/3 of your plate should be speed

Don't be too disheartened by going over on your syns, it's a learning curve and it does take some time to get your head around it. Try to plan lunches etc to take to work, it'll help stop the buying something that can cost a lot of syns just make sure there's a third of speed foods in there too, the key to losing the weight is to make sure you get at least 1/3 each of speed and protein.

I know they all seem to be 1.5, but the beef is 2... We're all hoping in my group that enough SW members complain and they change it back to how it was... it's happened before with something else (can't remember what it was!) so it could happen again
