Hi guys I recently joined SW and lost 3 1/2 lbs in my first week and right after the first weigh in the next day I went over to a friend we were all together had desserts sweets and chocolates and highly exceeded my syns! I plan to avoid syns the whole week and excercise will it help or will I still gain?
Scared please Help.

I have gone over syns occasionally but I don't change the plan after, and I don't avoid syns at all, I just get back on plan and follow it for the rest of the week including my syns. It's always worked without any problems for me. If you just have a bad day and it isn't a bad week then there is no reason why you won't still lose in my opinion. Just be careful about weighing and plan your meals well for the week, drink plenty of water and I am sure you will see a loss. Even the week I had a birthday, ate out, had ice cream over a few days I still lost a pound and I just carried on as normal with the plan once all the partying was over lol. Welcome to the forum.

Treat days are not a bad thing and I certainly never missed out on celebrations/parties the day after weigh-in is a good time IMO, I changed my weigh-in days to Fridays for this reason before I would have a treat day (including alcohol) and lost anything from 1-4.5lbs a week, less the more I lost in time.

I always put myself in extra good mode the rest of the week. Just be sensible with syns but don't deprive yourself... my 'treats' in the week to keep me from naughty things were things like:
Sugar free jelly and squirty low fat cream
Muller and strawberries/raspberries
^ both of the above I would sometimes add a small amount of chocolates too (mini pack size amount)
Options hot chocolate, sometimes with some mini marshmallows
