Really bad at eating breakfast - SW breakfast ideas?

Never been a breakfast person. I used to more than make up for not having breakfast on other meals (haha), but now I'm eating sensibly I suppose I should have a sensible breakfast? I think it's usually because between taking the kids to school and work I'm normally running too late for breakfast

Any ideas of breakfasts that you don't have to prepare? I don't mind cereal but not sure if you can have it on SW.

You know what I love? Instant porridge sachets! I never would have thought it as I'm not keen on porridge, but I bought some kid's syrup flavor porridge sachets from Asda for my children and I love them! You just add milk and zap in the microwave for 2 minutes. I can't see how this wouldn't be allowed!

Porridge sounds a great idea.

You can have some cereals on the Healthy Extra choices, between 30 and 35g things like Kellogs All Bran - personally makes me feel a bit on the queasy side, not a bran fan

Yoghurt and fruit are nice, we've been having that a bit, you can also eat canned fruit in juice not syrup as a healthy extra if you can't be bothered to chop in advance.

We like omlettes, you could if you can be bothered and have time in the evening make a kind of spanish tortilla style one with some say added peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, some sliced and cooked potatoes and then wrap in portions and pop in the fridge - tortilla is surprisingly nice cold.

These Ham and Egg "Muffins" are on the SW website - might try those myself sometime.

Also you could have for instance 60g wholemeal roll with 2 babybels or 70g Philadelphia Light which would cover both areas of the healthy extras for the day.

Ooo porridge. Will have to check on how many syns are in those pots that you just add hot water. My problem is that I don't really have time to eat breakfast first thing, so will be when I start work

Thinking maybe grab a bacon roll on wholewheat That's SW friendly, right?

If you don't like breakfast, there is really no need to eat it. There is absolutely no evidence that it is 'the most important meal of the day'.

Carbs for breakfast, like oats etc, will put a complete stop on fat burning, which will be going on after the nightie fast. Carbs are a crap choice for breakfast, and just by having a protein-centric breakfast can make a real difference on your fat loss journey.

At the end of the day, calories matter, but carbs for breakfast just end up as a blood sugar crash come 11am for many people, and then a snack, and so the process continues.

Eggs, fish, even bacon for breakfast works well. But irrespective of that, finding a meal timing plan that suits you and your lifestyle is the most important thing for diet success.

So, if breakfast is not for you, skip it and eat at lunchtime, or even at 10-11am, it's all open for discussion and modification.

Take a day you have some extra time and make low-fat pancakes. Put them on a cookie sheet and freeze them. Then store them in freezer bags with wax-paper between them and just pop them in the toaster and you've got pancakes.

Here's a recipe I got on about dot com (I don't think I'm allowed to post links yet-not sure). I copied this recipe for low-fat pancakes you if you want to use it:

Whip up a batch of pancakes in no time with this basic pancake recipe. You can adjust it by switching buttermilk in for milk. If you do, add a 1/2 tsp of baking soda to the recipe. I like to add some chopped fruit to the batter. Some chopped pears in fall make a nice addition. If you do this, add a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to the dry ingredients. However you choose to adapt this basic pancakes recipe, if at all, your family will appreciate homemade pancakes over those made from a mix, or heated up from a box of frozen pancakes. Enjoy with a drizzle of good-quality maple syrup.
Ingredients:

1 cups all-purpose flour
cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
tsp salt
1 large egg
1 tbsp canola oil
1 1/3 cups nonfat milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation:

Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk egg oil, milk and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir well.

Heat a griddle to 375 degrees. Pour cup batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form and the edges appear dry. Then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Makes 12 pancakes.
