I'm confused!!!! The beef and red wine casserole slimming world recipe calls for 100ml red wine and the recipe is counted as one syn. So why are the syns for the wine so low, when a glass of wine has a much higher syn count... is it something to do with the fact that it's cooked and the alchohol would burn off???

A couple of reasons:
1. The recipe will be an old one created before the syns values changed for wine.
2. A 125ml glass of red wine at 10-12% alcohol is 5 syns, so it would work out at 1 syn per portion if you used 100ml and made 4 portions

If you use a higher volume alcohol wine, you may need to add a couple of syns to the whole recipe, which would be like 0.5 extra per portion
