Sometimes It Just Doesn't Fill You Up

I've noticed when eating low carb style, sometimes it just doesn't fill you up like you want it to. I don't know what it is. I guess it's the bread that my gut likes. If I eat eggs, and bacon, I'm not full.

Does anyone else experience this?

All the time. It's quite frustrating.

Thankfully, yogurt with granola tends to help me feel full, as does oatmeal. Those are my go-tos in the morning to keep me going. I can cut back on any other meal except breakfast. I just can't start the day feeling empty.

Just give it some time and your body will get used to eating less carbs and lower carb foods will fill you up. Sometimes it takes awhile for your body to get used to the change.

I always have this experience and I think it just becomes a little bit of a war with your mind. You just have to somehow fight that craving to eat and fill the belly up. Low carb diets are important, but it really comes down to - eat less!

I think I'm the opposite. Protein usually fills me up and keeps me full for a longer time. If I eat meat, cheese, or eggs it fills me up. Bread and pasta fill me up quite a bit at the beginning, but then it digests really fast and I feel hungry again. Plus, it causes peaks in blood sugar. When the blood sugar crashes back down again it causes hunger.

Twyladee I have noticed that too about when I eat carbohydrates now. I feel really, really full and then 30 minutes to an hour later I am starving all over again.

I am the same. It took me years and years of eating carbs for lunch before I realised that they were making me crash mid afternoon and I would be starving and light headed.

I eat a high fat/protein meal such as omelette with sardines for lunch and it fills me up for hours, and the return of hunger is gradual and not a sudden crash!

Eggs and oatmeal are my go-to fill-me-up combo. They keep me full and satisfied for a good four hours. Of course, oatmeal is rather high in carbs, but I make sure not to eat a lot of other carbs throughout the day. I can handle 50-60 grams of carbs per day and still lose weight.

I have noticed this too. I tend to eat a lot more when I cut out carbs. I don't like the way I feel. I feel sluggish and I feel like I have no energy. I have decided to not cut carbs. I'm just eating a lot less each day.

I for sure know that high protein and low carb keeps me fuller for longer and I lose weight better but I miss bread, potatoes and pasta now and again. That´s why I decided to go back on Slimming world and eat mostly red days but have one or maybe two days of green ( depending on the time of the month usually ). I have noticed that I´m hungrier on green though so I think a good idea is to use protein as HEB´s on those days.

Thats the plan anyway. lol
