I have never done crochet before but my mum is very good it it and is always making something

Over the last couple of weeks I have watched videos and practised. I think I have cracked it. The only thing I find hard is holding the wool over my fingers. it keeps slipping off or it's too tight. But I am getting there.

You tube are great for tutorials, have a look at 'granny squares' you can get them with flowers on which are lovely, make small pieces then add them together for a cushion cover or blanket.. or make a big piece. There are also lovely pixie hats for babies etc which are easy to follow.

You have to use your little finger as a brake Huntress. Wool goes up between little finger and ring, over little and back up between (one wrap around) then over ring middler and first. First and thumb are holding work and middle is stuck up to make gap for the hook to pick up the yarn. I'd show a picture but I'm on Aistralia and have no crochet.
