Oooo interesting read! Sounds like from some other article feedback they (the richer side) were rude, they are often though IMO!

This looks totally interesting thanks for sharing. I have bought items that have been past their best before date without a problem but never anything past use by date. I am really funny about buying things from the 'last day' discount counters especially meat.

I found slim fast offers on this website and posted in the shopping section!

Depends on the product. I have learnt at work how sugary foods stay same for long periods of time, same could do apples, when they have best before date, but keep them in the fridge and they are fine.

I too keep apples in the fridge and forget the date the bag showed!

I'm always eating out of date foods, drives my mum mad as she's the sort to bin things at the stroke of midnight with me being veggie, there's not *too* much can go wrong and you can tell easily if most veggie foods have gone off. I had some sweet potatoes the other day that apparently went out of date in February

I was always told the rule of thumb about keeping fruit and veg in fridge is .................

if it's in the fridge in a shop then you should keep it in the fridge at home.
