How do you relax before sleep / bed

I find it really hard to snuggle down and settle even though I'm soooo tired ... I keep saying I will read a book but never do!

What do you do?

I know it's bad and they say that you shouldn't, but I always fall asleep playing on my phone. It really relaxes me for some reason!

I have a DVD on, which I actually hate, but it's the back ground noise I like, and play on my phone/read a book for a while. It sounds super corny, but I find really hard to sleep if OHs not in bed too, I think it's cos he relaxes a lot faster than me, so I sync my breathing or something!

Another thing I do if I'm really struggling is to imagine parts of my body falling asleep from the toes up, so kinda feeling yourself go numb until you get to the top and fall asleep!

I have battled this issue since childhood and there is no way I could read a book before bed. I need something that is going to slow my mind down, not try to speed it up. A good cup of tea works for me along with quiet time (kind of like what you do for kids).

I don't usually have a problem getting off to sleep. If I do, a cup of hot chocolate before bed usually works, but I can't afford too many of them if I want to continue my weight loss! The kids like to have a DVD playing music to get them off to sleep. Try that.

Avidian I get that with books, I get so into them I end up being up for hours! But I try and do say 1/2 hour of reading. My mum's always falling asleep reading and I just don't get how she can!

I'm lucky I think as,as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm out for the count. But I do wake up at 4am and have done for years as I use to get up at that time for work.

I usually am so tired when I get to sleep (my son is only 5 months old), but before I used to listen to music or read, and sometimes now I play Candy Crush Soda Saga, makes my brain turn off quicker.
