I HATE clothes shopping!

I went clothes shopping for the first time in ages last night and it's made me feel so crap! I stupidly assumed that because I've lost so much weight, I'd feel amazing trying things on, but I felt awful!

I think it's partly to do with the mirrors! I mean, when do you ever get dressed in bright lighting with a full length mirror inches away from you?! Every single lump and bump showed! I was trying on trousers, which is always interesting, cos I've got really short legs, so they never fit properly. But they clung to the wrong areas and were baggy in all the wrong places! They all seem to be too big on my hips, not by my belly, but on the outsides by my thighs.

I'm going back to try on s pair in the next size (shop was shutting last night), but I think they'll be too big hips wise too! My mum's suggested going to m&s and trying on school trousers which might actually work cos teenagers tend to be less hippy then adults!

But yea, I went in feeling all confident and happy and came out feeling chunky and frumpy and I bet had I ordered online I'd actually be really happy with them if I'd not seen myself half naked getting into them!

Trying on clothes, no matter how much you weigh is never fun for a woman. There is no "standard" size like there is on men's jeans. I have a problem with pants being too big in the waist but not big enough in the hip. Good luck to you!

I'm quite a bit bigger in the waist than the legs, mainly because ive got a proper mummy tummy and it's all loose skin, so trousers never sit right!

I hate clothes shopping too. I can never find trousers to fit me as my legs are so short!

Hope you find something!

I've just been asking one of the girls in the pub where she got hers so I've got an idea where to go! When I randomly grew this year, it seems to have gone on my legs, so petite length finally fit! They were always too long before!

And another one whilst I'm thinking about it, why are petite lengths always smaller size wise too?! Size 8 regular length fit fine size wise, but obvs too long, but petites are yoo small!

Yes I've noticed that petite sizes are smaller sows wise too. If I get the right length to fit me then it's way too right. Just can't win!

I wish I had a good sewing machine and knew how to use it so I could do alterations on clothes. I have the same problems finding things to fit right. Blouses don't want to button across my chest, and when they do, the arms are too long. If my pant legs are long enough, the waist doesn't fit right. It is no fun trying on clothes. It's almost exhausting.

It really is exhausting! I was talking to a friend about it the other day who is also rather vertically challenged I'm quite good with my sewing machine, but we were saying even taking trousers up doesn't work cos they don't fit elsewhere! Perfect example is faded jeans where they're meant to be faded on the knees and end up faded half way down your shins!

My favourite pair of jeans ATM are actually meant to be petite length crops! But oddly enough, they're an 8 and fit perfectly! Why can't wimens shops do a standard size,!

I hate shopping for clothes, too. I know how you feel! I'm not very tall myself but with all the variation in clothes, sometimes I need "average" length pants and other times I need "petite" length. Do you know how hard it is to find plus sized petite pants around here?! It's almost like an oxymoron!!
