16st 10lbs - needing serious help

Hi Everyone,
This is all so new to me - not the dieting - the forum and request for help!

I have joined slimming world many times and failed many times.

I had a baby 10 months ago and am back to work a couple of months now, since having my baby I have managed to gain 12lbs - since giving birth!!!! I feel lost and as if there is no hope for me, I have the sizes 14, 16, 18, 20 and am now looking at sizes 22 because size 20 is getting snug - how can i get back in to even the 16's?

I try all the time and then I seem to pick and pick and pick some more.

I thought of saving up and having liposuction to make myself feel better. I have not been happy with my body for about 10 years now especially my midriff and have constantly been on a diet lost a few lbs and then gained back double or triple!!

Any advice on how to be a working mother and keep slimming world part of my every day life would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to chatting to all of you lovely lady and gents hopefully in the near future

Hi

Welcome to Social Slimmers

I was near 15 stone and creeping into 20's bottoms and more for the top. I now bounce between a 10-12 ... it's just easier saying maintain than it actually is and above anything it's challenging and it's hard work to change your mindset and all the food/lifestyle habits we have created BUT you can!

What kind of work and hours do you do?

Does it have to be Slimming World?

What is your guilty 'picking' food choices?

x

Hi,
Thanks so much for the reply!

I am working Mon-Thurs 9.5.30 getting home with the baby from the child minder by 6.30 and then its all about him for bathing, dressing, feeding and bed for 7.30/8! Some evenings I might eat cereal and crisps and chocolate and anything i can find. Yesterday while making a Slimming World Curry for dinner i ate a purple snack and half of an easter egg, i prob should pick at healthier options but i always just seem to go for the indulgence.....

No any dieting help is great I just thought this was a Slimming World forum, sorry!

Thanks again for your reply

No no

I did start on SW but I don't follow it now.

Long days. Aiming for those quick things is so normal. Easier.

I'm about to go to the shop before the school run but I'll try and get a decent reply in while I wait at the school or when I get back.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Please have a look at our food diaries as they might point you in the right direction.

Sorry I didn't come back to this yesterday.

Time isn't on your busy side ...

Can you find any time to batch cook? I love my pressure cooker. You can have a 5-6 chicken fillets cooked in 20 minutes prep and cooking time with no oil. A slow cooker to batch cook. Obviously how much would depend on your spare freezer space. You can buy those chinese takeway style plastic tubs from B&M.

What are you managing in work and how long is your lunch break for?

I eat mostly clean and as little processed foods as poss. ATM I'm juicing in the day so raw veg juiced and chicken for protein. Simple and quick to prep. A friend of mine does the same but will have a tin of tuna (I just don't eat fish) then a normal meal in the evenings.

You following SW at home without a group? x

Hi ladies sorry I am only replying now just sitting after a long day!! I have a slow cooker and I love it - when I use it! I just seem to cook the same few things in it though casserole, roast beef, ham...any batch cooking suggestions? I try to be as good as possible in work with salads etc it's the sitting down time that I pig out or the nights when I don't cook because of lack of time it's easier to get takeaways I have a drawer cleared out in my freezer so all I need now is to fill it - what are your batch cooking ideas? I am just trying SW at home but I have always failed with group and at home, no confidence and no motivation!!! I just can't do a size 22 now also...I need to start going backwards now in the size department! Wobbles would you recommend cutting the carbs and having more protein?

Slow cookers are great for things like chilli or bolognese.
If you dont mind risqué and sometimes crude language (though they're also very funny), have a look here
twochubbycubs.com
as they've got some brilliant slow cooker recipes.

Welcome to social slimmers

I agree with all the comments above, and I would also recommend upping your protein intake if it isn't that high currently. Protein is what helps you feel full between meals, so you're less likely to snack between meals. Measuring your pasta/rice/potatoes out is a great move too, they shouldn't be more than 1/3 of your plate, maximum in my opinion.

And twochubbycubs is a great website, and hilarious too!
