Introducing myself (not your typical member)

Hi everyone! Great to see the forum so active on a daily basis - I've been enjoying the inspiring stories and thought I should say hi!

A little bit about me – I'm Irish, in my twenties, and today live in London. Growing up as a child I was overweight - not obese, but enough to be bullied and to have had long lasting issues with my image that have impacted my behaviour and self-esteem through to this day. While I've had some success in shifting the weight (working on keeping it off! ) more recently I’ve experienced this through my Mam – a self-confessed yo-yo dieter who wants nothing more than to lose weight, but who has struggled with the extreme requirements of certain ‘quick result’ diets, something that sadly has impacted her happiness and sense of self-worth ..

This is an issue I care greatly about. I will soon be going to University in the US and upon graduating, I would like to dedicate my time and energy to understand if I can help make a personal contribution in helping others achieve greater success in their goals.

As part of that, I will be posting in the 'Press and Research' page (link below) with a request for some help from anyone generous enough to offer some of their time. If you have a moment, I'd really appreciate your input!

Thanks and best of luck to everyone here!

I looked at your research thread. It might be easier for you to create a survey online for people to fill in. Most people will opt to take/fill in a survey/questionnaire than talk directly to someone.

Just an idea anyway good luck with your studies.

Thanks for the responses, appreciate it!

Hi 'Wobbles' - good suggestion and makes sense. I've now created a survey, although unfortunately I cannot post it at present due to spam restrictions.

Let me know if there is any chance you can help me out here. Thanks again!
