Hello people, just joined and wanted to say hi, i am a sw online member but am struggling at the moment, i know what to do but my willpower seems to have left me. Have just been off work for 3 weeks with a sprained ankle and spent most of my time eating chocolate and biscuits, last year i was off work for 3 months after an operation and did the same, can't seem to stick with it but really need to lose the weight for health reasons and to fit in my clothes!!

Welcome to social slimmers

Firstly, I hope you're feeling better! Or at the very least more mobile than you were!

Try to do it one day at a time. Do your weekly shop and get all the veggies in, etc. And then just focus on the current/next day (thinking of whether you need to defrost anything the night before!)
Get you let tea and lunch planned, make lunch the night before (if you're like me and can't make it on the day) and try to plan your tea.
Or what about batch cooking? Pick a few meal to make, buy all the ingredients and spend a couple of hours cooking it all and portioning it out. Stick it in the freezer and then you've got some quick meals to just microwave when you're short on time or can't be bothered cooking one night. That's one of my main suggestions. Batch cooking is a god send most of the time for me!

Don't get all hung up on finding lots of dishes to have ready. Pick a few you like and make them up to have them ready to go. Thinking of too many can distress the best of dieters imo.

I lost over 8 stone last year and one of the best things I did was create a few go-to things. Vegetable soup being a great help (carrots, leeks, onions, celery and turnip and salt and pepper). Either blend all or blend half (remove half the veg into a strainer/colander and blend the rest) or eat as is. Also my go-to salad which I still have every day and consists of grated carrot, grated courgette, chopped red pepper and chopped celery. I eat it with some tomatoes and beetroot and a can of mackerel in tomato sauce. One of my go-to dinners is a veggie stew. Or salmon/sea bass with broccoli, asparagus and green beans. It is just about deciding the foods you like that are slimmer friendly. No need for lots of faffing about with recipes imo.

Btw, I ate as I did coz I had so much to lose and was very concerned about saggy skin so ate foods that were beneficial to my skin.

Good luck on your weight loss journey :-)

Thanks for your advice, its got to be simple stuff this week as i'm on late shifts at work, i've always struggled with breakfast but i've discovered bran flakes (a bit like chewing cardboard) but i fill a bowl with fruit and a fat free yogurt and top with the bran flakes, quite filling and tastey and quick and easy! Off to physio in a minute then work, feels much better but still a bit swollen but think it will be ok in a week or so. Feel better already for doing my first back on healthy eating plan 😊

Hi

Welcome to Social Slimmers

It's sooo flipping easy to fall off but grab your willpower and you will feel better for it. Have you thought of other sweet alternatives to just chocolate and biscuits ... they are the easiest to grab though.

Stop buying them .. I did and by the time I wanted I couldn't be bothered going back to the shop.
Frozen berries defrosted are soooo sweet.
A cheeky small meringue is low calories/syns
Total 0% or skyr yog with the berries ... and don't forget the small squeeze of choc shot or good honey

Are you following a specific plan/diet/plan? x
