Newbie - meal replacement

Hi all

I'm Bex and I'm a newbie. I'm starting a meal replacement diet on Sunday and thought it would be great to talk with like minded people while I start this new journey.

I'm morbidly obese and have tried every diet and plan going, through doctors and without them. I did have success with slimming world, I lost 6 stone, but that was short lived and soon was all back on.

The only thing I haven't tried is meal replacements e.g. shakes, bars, soups. So I'm going to start a 14 day trial on Sunday with shakes, following a VLCD scheme.

Say hi!

Hi Bex, and welcome! There's lots of us here all on different plans. One of my RL friends is doing Slimfast at the moment and it seems to be working for her.

Make sure to check out Groupon if Slimfast is your chosen program; they often have deals on the shakes and snack bars. At the moment they're doing the snack bars and noodle pots.

Jealous of you living down in Cornwall--my boyfriend and I were in Gulval outside Penzance for a holiday last month and we loved it, said we'd buy a holiday home down there!

Anyway enough rambling, best of luck with your program and make sure you let us know how you're getting on. We're all here to support, never to judge.

Hi Bex, welcome to social Slimmers

As kaybird said there are lots of people on here following different plans and everyone's very friendly

I've been hearing a lot recently from other people at my SW group that maintaining is even harder than losing the weight!

Best of luck with your plan! Look forward to following your journey

Hi everyone

Thanks for the warm welcome kaybird296, sarahc4536, Bevziibubble and dirtydancing.

kaybird296 thanks for the Groupon tip! Very handy.

Didn't end up starting today - nightmare day. Starting in the morning - weighed myself tonight, did all my measurements.

Feeling sick..nerves. Dreading it to be honest, but really need to do this.

Take each day as it comes. That's the best advice I can ever give.
I've been on a journey for years and lost the weight and put it back on again (and I've just done it again!) but take each day as it comes and you'll get there

When those feelings of dread crop up--and they will, sometimes when you're least expecting it--try to keep in mind why you've started. Set yourself mini goals; the next five pounds, an inch off everywhere, and so on. I've found that having mini goals like that keeps my eyes on the prize.
