another newone!!

Hello all, not done slimming world before I joined 2 wks ago, had my first weigh in last week and lost 4lbs....I find myself struggling today and want to eat nothing but treats!! I've had 33 syns so far today and don't want to carry it on tomorrow....will I still have a loss this week if I get back on track tomorrow?

Hi Tanny and well done on your brilliant first week loss. I can't say how things will work out on the scales, but I do think one blip in the week shouldn't cause too many problems, the really positive thing is that you kept track of your syns and know how many you had. Get back on it tomorrow, don't dwell on it (we allll do it at one time or another and that's why you can have flexi syns) Best of luck

Hi MarieDK....I'll prob go and try a power walk today to make up for my mess up yesterday see if that helps lol, I've got in my head if i eat salad and pasta I'll lose weight but if i eat normal free food and I feel full then I feel fat and I feel like I'm not trying 😐 any tips on how to change the way my mind works haha

Don't be scared of food.

It's all about portion control too and in my opinion with free foods such as potatoes, rice & pasta moderation. Lot's of meat & veg.

Full is good. Use the rule of stopping when full, you don't have to finish the plate.

Well done on your first loss too!

I understand the whole wanting to eat loads of food when you first start the plan, it takes some time to get your head around the fact you can eat so much of the free foods and still lose weight.

As for having a bad day, one bad day won't ruin your week if you get back on plan the following day

Like Wobbles said, focus on the pasta, rice, potatoes, etc. in moderation.
Follow the guildelines that SW give you and make sure that those items don't reach more than 1/3 of your plate. Fill up on the speed and protein foods first. And don't eat everything on your plate just because it's there, don't force the food down.

Having a lot of pasta could add to the bloated feeling possibly? It does with me sometimes!

Do you find you are wanting to snack on sweet or savoury things? I'm wondering if there are alternatives that we could suggest to help keep you satisfied?
