Hello!

Heya!

Newbie here! I stumbled across this place yesterday but didn't get a chance to post.

I'm Sarah. I live in Greater Manchester but hail from West Yorkshire originally. A distinction I do like to make when people ask where I'm from!

I've been overweight for all of my adult live and over the last 10 years have done a lot of yo-yoing in terms of my weight. In October 2012 I was at my heaviest and this was when I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. A big chunk of my treatment was to loose weight.

I did really well in the first six months and lost 2st but then I plateaued and never seemed to be able to get back on the wagon again properly. Until the beginning of this year. I had already made the decision to make a concerted effort with my weight and at my last diabetes check up I was given the push I needed - both my blood sugars and my cholesterol had shot up

Since the beginning of January I've lost 17lbs. I don't really have a target weight as I have a lot to loose so I'm taking it in small chunks. I'm very much of the "eat less, move more" way of thinking and don't really go in for any of the fad diets out there. I eat a balanced diet and am currently burning around 720 calories 4/5 days a week on my exercise bike. I never thought I would get into exercise this much but I really enjoy it and can be quite competitive with myself! I do allow myself treats - if I didn't I would crave and just end up binge eating!

Apart from my epic weight loss journey I am a massive geek, a big film and music fan and an avid book reader. I live with my lovely man who is equal parts supportive and a bad influence when it comes to my weight loss!!

Ok, I didn't mean to write quite that much but that's me! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
