Hi I'm joining SW on wednesday, and i've had a little look at the free foods and brief look at the syns.... It sounds like a great plan... im just worried i might think i can eat anything...

I'm doing my big shop tonight... please could anyone give me some tips, advise or SW must have ingredients ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Dolly, welcome to the forum.
SW is easy to stick to, due to all the free foods. Though your shopping does depend on whether you like cooking from scratch. I'd say you need any fruit and veg that you like, and lots of it, including potatoes. Brown rice and pasta are healthier but white will do. Chicken fillets, eggs and 5% fat mince are a staple. Plus tins of baked beans, spaghetti hoops and tomatoes. Some wholewheat breakfast cereal like Weetabix or Shreddies, and a small 400g wholemeal loaf. Then lastly, some fat free yogurts such as Shape, WeightWatchers or Muller light.
Good luck!

Thank you i think i'll be using this site regularly, there so much useful advice

thank you AliCat for the list tinned tomatoes, eggs and the muller light yogurts were a must... and i've got tuns of fruit for snacks.... feeling ready I made spaghetti bolognese but opted for qourn instead of mince i was really proud of myself as i thought it was syn free until i realised Tomato puree isn't luckily i only used 2 table spoons across 4 portions... I think i need to get a syn book to avoid a similar mistake

Hi Dolly!

Welcome to Social Slimmers

Only thing I advise on the 'free anything' is eating pasta, potatoes, grains in moderation. It's the only thing that kind of annoys me about the plan lol
