Smile

Newbie

Hi,
I joined SW Online last night and have spent most of today printing out and reading the paperwork. Trying to get my head round it all but I'm thinking I must be getting it wrong coz it all seems too easy.

1) eat as much as I like from free foods
2) Add 1 a and 1 b Healthy extras
3) 5-15 syns

is that it?

I'm 5ft 1in and weigh in at 12s 2.5lb hoping to get to 11st as a starting goal

I hope to actually start the plan tomorrow and am thinking of this for the day

B/fast ....2 oatibix (HE?) with skimmed milk, apple
Lunch.....2 boiled eggs, salad, pear
Dinner.... Chicken breast, tiny new tatoes, broccoli, cauli, carrots. Total 0%greek yogurt with strawberries and raspberries.

I now have to work out my Healthy Extras and Syns as I would like more than the 350ml of skimmed milk and some gravy and if I've enough syns left maybe some mayo.

Sounds good. Your breakfast cereal is your B, your milk will be your A. Eat as much lean meat, fish, eggs, potatoes, pasta, rice, noodles, couscous, fruit and veg as you like. Its best to use at least 5 syns on something special or a sauce to make food tastier maybe. Depriving yourself is counterproductive so go for it! Have a look at our food diaries. If you want to start one we can always help you out. Enjoy :-)

Thank you Alicat. I've done more reading so am understanding more. Gravy, more milk and some mayo will take up a lot of my syns so I'm looking for something as a stand alone syn now, biscuit perhaps or the like.

I use skimmed milk as you get 350ml which is plenty for me. Also, lighter than light mayo saves a lot of syns, it's 0.5 syn per tbsp and doesn't taste half bad. Biscuits vary greatly. I like chocolate coated rice cakes for 4 syns as I get my choc fix! You'll soon get the hang of it ☺

Welcome Woggles!

You're looking good for your plan, and it will take some time to figure it out properly (think it took me a couple of weeks to fully get my head around it ) but once you get there, yuo'll be making new recipes and planning meals like a pro

Food diaries are always usefull, both having your own and nosying at each others, you get some inspiration for meal ideas too

Good luck on your journey, and look forward to seeing how you get on

As for the tracker, you have to reach 10 posts before you can add any form of signature, so have a nosy round at the other threads on here and post a bit
