Let's do this ;-)

Hey

It's time to face some demons and fight the fight.

So here I am.

I've always had issues with food, my weight and my wellbeing, food isn't something I crave nor desire but it is a necessity to life and I used it in the wrong way for many many years.
I could quite easily go a few days without eating, but then something would trigger inside and I'd do a mad binge, or when I tried being good and eating daily I wouldn't eat anything till the evening around 8 and it would just sit in my stomach not being worked off...

I decided around 4 years ago i needed a lifestyle change, so began the Cambridge diet, I absoutly loved this diet, I lost just over 4 stones in just under 3 months and had never felt so good about myself, although I wasn't eating food as such I was still having to make myself have 3 meals a day morning, noon and night so to speak...
My health took a turn and I had major hall bladder issues and had to stop immediately, after a very scary and complicated operation and a long stay in hospital I then thought I'd be on the road to recovery and being able to re start, I fell pregnant with my son almost instantly, was very shocked so again my eating was just pushed aside and I gained more and more weight.

Early last year I thougt enough was enough and re signed up for the Cambridge, again I was doing amazing and felt brilliant, but I had to go for a biopsy and was asked to stop, then it got tricky and I wasn't allowed to re join without my doctors consent, I was kidding myself that I was ok, and they were being ridiculous but actually my health had hit a bad turn and I needed to get my head straight and fight my health issues,
I'm still fighting with that demon but have decided I really need to do something about my weight, so I'm doing it alone this time and have struggled a lot.

Looking forward to getting lots of support and giving as much as I can.

We can do this :-)

Hello Sazzle!

I am kind of new too, I disappeared but it is time to face it.

It sounds like you had a rough time with your bladder and other health problems. All considered I am not surprised the health kick took seat now what is important is thinking forward and not backwards. I am sure you can do it sazzle. Good luck.

We can do this

Hi sazzle. Love the name

Know what you mean about the binging. I tend to comfort eat at points but then can go for ages being sensible. Unfortunately I'm just not sensible long enough to get rid of the weight from last time before being silly again

Cambridge is a shock to the system on a normal body let alone of you have health issues. Hope you are feeling better btw. Maybe just cut down carbs rather than cut them out. Been looking at Extante which is similar to the very low calorie part of Cambridge Diet but does contain some carbs

Anyway, welcome to the forum

Hello chicky x, I did not see your post earlier but I did end up out this afternoon ...

You've been through so much if now is the time you want to get back on it then I say darn right you can do it hun.

Are all shake replacement meals out? What about blending up your own? I do shakes for breakfast sometimes breakfast and lunch but in the past I would miss those meals then eat c*** in the evening, I feel more in control this way but 3 shakes is tough. It can be done without the more extreme measures

Hi Sazzle,
It sounds like you have had a tough time. I totally get the whole binge eating thing. I too have been all over the place with dieting and recently tried the pig to twig diet. It did work when I began but it cut out all carbs and as soon as Ki cheated which is absolutely not allowed I ended up bingeing on all the things I gave up and just cannot bear the thought of no fruit.
I am hoping that if I set more realistic goals and eat a good variety of foods on slimming world which seems quite flexible it just might finally work. It has been a lifetime battle and I am determined to end it this year x

I don't like no carb diets/plans I must admit but we all try them, I think very few are successful with them when things get back to normal.
