Another Newbie

Good morning all. My name is Julie and I am 50 years old I have been dieting for almost 30 years. I even had a gastric bypass 9 years ago which enabled me to loose 8 stone and get down from a size 28 to a size 16 . Unfortunately I suffer from severe mobility issues and had to give up work last year.
Due to reduced mobility the only exercise that I can do is swim which I try to do 5 times a week.
Since my 8 stone weight loss I have managed to gain 3 stone back which I have been trying to loose for the past 3-4 years.
I am an expert at dieting I am just rubbish at it, I'm quite disciplined with food it's the wine that is my downfall.
My main problem is I flit from one diet to another one minute it's Rosemary Conley then it's WW then SW then 5.2 then calorie counting. I know that all diets work if we stick to them and don't cheat !
I need to stick to one eating plan until I loose my weight, but which one, ATM I'm thinking of SW . I also have lots of time on my hands so cooking from scratch is not a problem.
Help please.
Thanks for reading
Julie xx

Hi Julie

I have a friends that had a gastric bypass. Until she had it done I didn't realise how major the operation was. That's some major weight lost, well done! I'm sure you can lose at least that 3 stone. I think even small things like signing up to a weight loss forum puts you in the right frame of mind to keep at it

My friend slipped and never pulled herself back and ended back to where she was so appreciate how hard it must be for you.

I'm on slimming world. I find it amazing. So much food choice and recipes. I find that it changes the way you think about food, which can't be a bad thing when you're losing weight and eating nice things

Good luck. Welcome to the forum

Thank you for your reply MsMissy, yes it is a very drastic operation with side effects that are permanent mainly the toilet issue lol. You do get used to it though when you get yourself into a routine. Well done with your weight loss . Think that it's going to be back to SW for me .
