Hi

I developed an underactive Thyroid at the age of 50 and tried lots of 'diets' including Weight Watchers and was really fed up. I then went to Slimming World and a whole new world opened up I could eat and eat and eat and lost weight. I lost over 4 stones by eating, not dieting it was wonderful. I then became a Slimming World Consultant and loved the job. I still keep in touch with some of my members on facebook.

Stick with Slimming World - it is the best (tried and tested) - one of my members lost 7stones. She came in on 2 walking sticks and was a size 24 she is now near her target and swims, does aqua aerobics, exercises and has got rid of her walking sticks. She has just been on a 2 month tour of India, which she could not have done if she had not lost the 7 stones.

Hi Katy!

Oh, I sure am glad you're here. I have been wanting to know more about Slimming World but there are no local chapters where I live and the online membership is a little too pricey for me right now.

I have heard so many good things about it and how people are able to eat well and still lose weight. I'm really interested in what you can share.

Welcome to the forum.

I still use my plan and I have up to date books, in addition to on-line membership. I do like to keep up with what is happening. It is better to go to a group if you can. SW have groups for approx. every 5000 population, so there is always one nearby. I was looking to go onto a plan but did not want to travel into town to attend a group. Then I found out that SW had one in my village. If you go on-line and put in your postcode they give you a list of the 10 nearest groups and the times. I still go to group when I can and will be attending this week. There is a smashing new book out Extra Easy Express so I want to get a copy of that. Have fun and stick with it. My favourite foods are SW Quiche's. One tub of cottage cheese, 1/2 teaspoon Wholegrain Mustard (for fish I add Dill, you can also add other spices/herbs), Salt & Pepper and 5 eggs. Beat the eggs and add the other ingredients. Use this as the basis for any quiches. spray your dish and add whatever you wish. My favourite is Salmon and Brocolli. Place the salmon in the dish, then defrost the broccoli and place it in between the salmon so that you get a piece of both in every bite. Pour the mixture over the top ensuring that it is all covered. Cook until golden brown..... Lovely!!!!!!!
