Cycling not popular?

I'm just guessing but cycling doesn't seem popular on this forum, particularly this time of year.

We did have someone who was very keen on cycling but not sure if you're on here much these days. A few other members do cycling.
I'm not very keen on it as I can imagine me falling off the bike knowing me

I did 9.76 miles today...... but it WAS cold.

Diet and exercise has got to be better than diet alone. ( IMHO )

Doing both is better I think, but personally, I despise bikes. I have zero balance standing on my own two feet, never mind relying on 2 skinny wheels to keep me upright

Me me ... haven't been out on it lately but that is down to moving twice and unsettled ... lost my go a bit. Cold doesn't bother me, I ran in winter short sleeved, you soon get warm

Nice going on the miles. How often do you cycle? I took to it instead of running, loved running but a) I have a bad chest and b) I use to think going further along the coast would be lovely to see (and it is).

Sarah you know my balance is bloody awful and I did worry getting a road bike but was amazed how quickly I picked it up, the gears drive me a bit nutty though .... I only had one instance I nearly went in the River Dee

Hi Wobbles.

Not sure I could do short sleeves. I'm more a "tights under my bib-longs" sort of bloke.

I had a heart attack in 2013 and cycling has been my way of improving my fitness. I did start off with a road bike but struggled to get down on the drops.
Two years ago I bought a hybrid, (Cannondale Quick 4) and haven't looked back.
I've nearly got to the 1000 miles on it and if all goes well may try another road bike for next summer.

Loosing a bit of weight can only speed things up in more ways than one.

If I get overtaken by bare arms covered in goose pimples I'll shout "Hi Wobbles"

I get too warm and hate clothes sticking to me.

Mine is a cross between road and Hybrid actually. Not blooming cheap are they?

That's an awesome amount of mileage, go you! You've made me think this afternoon that I do need to add the bike back into my routine. Leg & butt goals here

Enjoy the colder cycling!

I did say that I might buy a road bike for the summer.

Well this came along second hand, and just in case summer comes early this year...........
