Taking up cycling

So I've decided to stop the running, I loved it and hated it all in one. I found it was heavy on the joints for me also which some runners experience.

I plan to carry on doing sprints when the mood takes me but for now I have a new hybrid bike on it's way #excited

Has anyone got any tips? I have seen people advise on cycling pants because they are padded a little on the butt... is it necessary? I also need a bike mount/rack and a helmet so actually my original purchase is costing me more than I sat back and thoughts about although I will be ebaying too.

No advice from me either - the last time I rode an actual push bike was about 18 years ago I've stuck with the exercise bikes at the gym since then (although that's been a while too!)

Good luck with it though!!

Well I bought a bike and went to get it built ... Big mistake! I walked out with bike still in box and one about 3 times the prices and loads of accessories it is a cool bike though!

I haven't been out yet as I've had no time but off out with my running now cycling pal Chris tomorrow!

Bike ride at 10 miles yesterday which was fun and the gears battered my head but it was a nice tester ride.

In the last mile the rain hit down and the wind pick up blowing right in our faces which was not fun, it felt like hail stone!

Kinda sore today despite padded cycling bottoms so I'm now glad I bought those or it may have been much worse
