Stairs

I have a lot of steep stairs at home. Will I get a better workout running up and down the stairs, compared to walking for 30 to 60 minutes? Does anyone have any creative stair workouts?

We have 13 steep stairs at home and I'm always rushing about up and downstairs. It's tiring so I guess it must be good exercise. I used to run up and down them years ago as I heard it burnt ten calories a minute. I could never do longer than a minute though, as it was so exhausting!

Stairs is better than just walking that is for sure!! Just don't step on each stair, make it through the one! it is one of the best exercises for the back part of legs and you butt)) i am sure every trainer in gym can tell you the same!;-)

maybe have some hand weights near by you can pick up ( of course away from kiddos so they don't grab them ) and you can use them as you go up and down ?

Stairs are good and make you butts look good i always use stairs when i can !

It could be a great way to workout.

Walk - jog - walk - jog
Skip a step (if possible, be careful)
Takes hand weights

Other things:
Tricep dips
Press ups on bottom step
Step ups on bottom step
Split squats (see pic but use steps)

I have been going up and down these stairs for years, and I don't think I have lost any weight because of it. They might be keeping my legs toned but I need to lose overall body weight.
