Hi Siddharth, wlcome to Social Slimmers

Male?

1200 is quite low for a male especially at your height. It is perfectly ok to be low calorie and go to the gym to lose weight but what you don't want to be doing is under eating, under eating can stop you from losing weight.

Have a couple of things to do this morning but will come back with some tips that may be of use to you.

I also think you're being a bit severe in restricting yourself to 1200 calories - I am 4'11" and on 1200 - so for you this is starvation! Do take care your body doesn't react to such a drastically low intake that it goes into starvation mode and hangs onto every little bit if food it can in order to lay down fat. Because thats what our bodies like to do.
If you go to the gym on this small amount of calories you'll loose fat, but you'll also lose muscle as I'm sure any trainer there will confirm. I'm sure you don't want to lose muscle so you need more calories to maintain it.
At an active over 6ft tall most dieticians would recommend at least 1500 - 2000 cals a day.
Be patient - the weight didn't go on overnight and its not going to come off overnight either.
You can eat all those foods you mentioned - watch the fats (mushrooms and onions can soak up a lot of fat if fried), and the portion sizes, weigh everything - I know its boring but write down the weights of everything you eat - then look up the calorie value on myfitnesspal.com! Drink water!
