Dental work and eating

I'm having a tooth pulled and a root canal on Friday. The dentist already told me that I would have to eat soft foods (ice cream)! I am thinking pudding and ice cream. Obviously these don't really fit into the healthy eating plan that I have been following. Can anyone think of anything else that would be healthy that I would be able to eat?

Well, what about oatmeal, soup, cottage cheese, yogurt, and applesauce? If you get pain medication, you may not feel all that hungry for a few days anyway.

I like eating some nice and easy pasta, Ramen Noodles, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. That's what I always ate during my tonsillectomy.

Those are all great ideas and you might want to pick up a thing of Ensure too. I had that the last time I dealt with dental work and was on soft foods for over a week. It was pure torture but worth it in the end.

I'm having my wisdom teeth removed next Saturday so I'm facing the same problem!

I was thinking about things like low fat rice pudding, mashed up bananas, porridge, soft bread products etc.

I ate a McDonalds a few hours after I had my wisdom tooth out *blush*

Things like soup, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, well cooked rice etc should be good

Some homemade soups with a little soft bread

Pastas with homemade sauce

Porridge

Rice salads

I hope the procedure went ok and hasn't caused you much pain. I think sometimes we have to just eat what we can/is possible/bearable in situations like this.

I have been eating a lot of ice cream! I also made pudding, mashed potatoes and chicken breast. The chicken breast is really tender. No pain medicine, just Advil. My mouth still hurts!
