A friend of mine just found out she's pregnant and doesn't know how she should handle her diet. She can't keep dieting, can she? I mean, one of the main goals of pregnancy is to gain weight, not to lose it, right?

Your calorie intake goes up a little when pregnant but if she sticks to lean and fat-free foods and doesn't overeat she should be fine. She should speak with the doctor about ways to gain the proper baby weight without over eating.
