hips/thighs

hello, this is my first post on this page i'm fiona and i'm 15. i've gone from being obese to a healthy weight but theres one issue i have with myself, and this is the transition to my legs from my hips. i have an hourglass figure which i'm happy with, but never have i seen anyone else look like this. my hips stick out about 3/4 inches over my legs, and it looks disgusting, like i have a "spare tyre", as the bones in my hips stick out so far. i was wondering if anyone had any tips on toning up this area so it flows (like the second picture)?? this is something i've had since i started puberty and i hate it, and i'd love to tone up before i go to italy in july. i appreciate anything you help me with, thank you

Hi fiona

I have the same problem but TBH looking at your pic you look great. That area there is always the last place that firms up. I've just bought a Slendertone for the exact same reason. I'll let you know if it works
I've also heard situps or going on a rowing machine can help with those areas.

Crossing my fingers you. Bet you'll get it sorted by july.

My mate had a wrap done before she went on holiday and even though it was only temporary it did last til after she came back Something to maybe try if still struggling by july

tbh I've been thinking about this post. You look fab! You don't even need to do anything! Don't kick yourself, you don't want to look like a stick figure. I bought a slendertone because I have a serious muffin top but looking at your pic I'm dead jealous

Hi Fiona,

You look like you have a nice figure. Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and really at your age I think it's just important for you to stay on a healthy route which is exercise and eating well, this will help you for the future. Certainly nothing wrong with be young and wanting to be healthily fit.

Would you discuss a gym with your parents where you will get a personal trainer to help you stay in shape?
Do some running and light workouts at home - sit ups, press ups, squats, etc?

But definitely remember to eat good just healthy, no crash dieting x

hello, sorry i've been so late responding! i've been doing circuts every night and each circut involves 30 situps, so thats all good i've never tried a slendertone, are they any good??

i recognise that i may have the potential for a nice figure, and if i got this area sorted out i'd be really satisfied!

i just googled a wrap there now as i had never heard of it before, and i'm liking the idea of it so far! if its not too expensive its something i could definately look into, it not only sounds beneficial but amazingly relaxing

thank you for all your help, much appreciated! xx

hello, once again thank you for the response and apologies for my late reply! at home i would do a few circuts a night - sit ups, star jumps, squats etc - just to help with the toning up process!

thank you for your help, i've taken it on board

Hey hun, you know what? I'd say a good 90% of women's hips look like that! If you look at the structure of the pelvis, it's shaped like that. BUT I do know how frustrating it is! My hips have always been the same and are changing now with exercise, but they'll always be pretty much like that! Just remember, the pictures you see online and in magazines are usually heavily airbrushed and photo shopped.

You could try Russian twists, google them, they work that area more than a standard sit-up would.

You look fab though, well done on your weight loss so far!
