Kitchen Scale

I really hope I get a kitchen scale for Christmas. I always have to estimate things like meat portions and it's hard to tell how accurate I've been. I don't find visual approximations very helpful.

I Love my digital kitchen scales. It makes it so much easier to measure portions out, as trying to guess yourself can be quite misleading. I always get totally the wrong amount!

I'm glad you like yours! I don't mind an analog scale as opposed to digital, but either kind will be just fine with me. If I don’t get one, I’ll go buy myself one.

I had a great digital scale a few years ago but I left it at my ex- girlfriend's house when I left!

I agree, they are the best way to portion out your meals to make sure you are not over eating.

I had one but dropped it last year and it broke. I wasn't using it all that often except for when I was baking but I sure could use one now.

I'm very lazy when it comes to measuring food portions on the scales

What foods are you all strict on weighing?

I know what you mean. I always doubted myself when I was trying to compare meat to "a deck of cards" and trying to decide whether the rice on my plate looked like it would "fit in the palm of my hand." I say, if you don't get a kitchen scale for Christmas, buy one for yourself. You can get a basic one for less than twenty bucks, and that's really all you need.

I relate to what Wobbles said. I don't feel like weighing everything I eat. I don't even own a food scale. I think I do a good job with portion control for the most part.
